Singles Competition 2018

Sunday, 9th September saw a part sunny, part breezy day but happily NO rain. Registration was at 9.30am with play commencing at 10.00am. Unfortunately two members turned up late for registration, hence we had to tweak the format to try and accommodate them. For future reference we must stress how important it is to register ON TIME. The format was four 30 minute games + finish the end and ONE more end only. We ended up with two players, Tony and Michael on  4 wins and 21 points each and Tony won the play off. Jill Butt was awarded the Most Improved Player Trophy. Full Results 4 Wins 1st Tony      +21 points 2nd Michael +21 points 3 Wins 3rd Ian +21 points 4th David M S +11 points 5th Tim +8   points 2 Wins 6th Jean +9  points TOP LADY 7th Jill +4  points 7th Dominic +4  points 1 Win 9th David C -5 10th Linda -13 11th Bartosz -19 11th David J -19 13th Bill -25 14th Mike H -26

Doubles Competition 2018

After a Very WET and disappointing Sunday 29th July scheduled competition it was agreed by the members  to play on Friday evening th 3rd August - with a few tweaked rules to accommodate the limited time: Nine teams, which meant that we had to have a BYE in each round. ( a BYE = a win and +4 points ) Three games of 40 minutes each and a final bell when all play must STOP and the points counted. Draws would be accepted rather than a play off. Registration at 5.30, commencing play at 6.00pm. No breaks in-between the games meant that we completed the competition by 8.30pm giving us time to de-assemble and clear the pistes before dark. The winners were Brian and Mike H, collecting the shield and a medal each, plus a bottle.  Carla & Tim collected a box of chocs each. Well done everyone, including our helpers and time keepers. Doubles Competition Friday the 3rd August. Full results: 1) Brian E & Mike H 3 Wins +18 2) Carla & Tim 2 wins +22 3) David S & Tony 2 Wins +13 4) David P & Mo 2 Wins +8 5) Mary & Brian W 2 Wins -7 6) Janine & Adrianne 1 Win 1 Draw -1 7) Ian & Carole 1 Win -15 8) Jill & Michael 1 Win -20 9) Joyce & Dominic 1 Draw -6
